about

Straight from the long warm summers of Valencia, Fighting Lion’s new EP A Convenient Place sparkles with fireworks, sunsets and a commitment to embrace life’s every moment.

Produced by Álvaro Menéndez, the EP comprises seven short pieces featuring ukulele, piano and glockenspiel. From the excitement of the opener ‘A Joyful Wait’ to the serenity of ‘Passing Clouds’ and the simple bliss of ‘Fireworks shine on your face’ A Convenient Place takes the listener on a journey from sun dappled hills, to crisp evenings, and late romantic nights. For Menéndez music is a way of reaching a state of mind which is full of light, wisdom and courage. “It has to do with accepting what has happened and what is to come, it has to do with living with intensity in a sensitive way,” he says. Luckily for us Menéndez’s Convenient Place is also one of great beauty. It is a place which challenges the truism that sadness is more profound than happiness and compels us all to approach life with a fearless energy, much like a Fighting Lion.
