The reason I chose this river is because of its remoteness and the incredible diversity of plant and animal life it supports.
I've always viewed the Cox's River as a wild, rocky and sometimes difficult river to get access to due to the mountainous terrain. I used to go fishing in many places along the banks to try and catch trout, and there are many beautiful places along its banks.
The river is also a major source of Sydney's drinking water but
sadly has become increasingly polluted due to Delta Electricity's Wallerawang power station.
Knowing all of this makes me angry, frustrated and very sad all at the same time.
Like so many rivers, we as humans just treat them as dumping grounds and governments agree to this.
My piece for this project aims to instill the sadness I feel knowing that another pristine river is in trouble due to pollution.
