About the piece:

The field recordings are recorded in the park which my house
is situated in, it`s a very nice and quiet park right in the heart of
Tehran but it`s almost a hidden place because it`s a dead-end,
no cars can pass through from the neighboring streets. I chose
to record the sounds heard in this park between 4 and 7 am,
because first of all it`s my favorite time of the day (just before I
go to sleep!) and secondly because there many beautiful bird
songs heard during this time, I tried to capture the mood of that
period of time into this one track, I collected the recordings over
15 days. I modified some of the sounds a lot and some sounds
are left untouched. There are three types of bird sounds and
one recording of some foxes fighting over some food!

I did not find this the easiest or most immediate album to get into on first listen, but on repeated listens it is really growing on me. Moody Iranian experimental ambient with scraping/droning strings, field recordings, noise, hypnotic folky vocals, and a slightly chaotic, dislocated vibe all of its own. Unusual, haunting, and recommended if you have time to dig past the surface. Very rewarding. David Smith

It's getting near impossible to pick favourites from Jason Corder's expansive catalogue,( there are SO many gems!) - but this offering approaches the finest moments of our 20th+ century avantgarde- more akin to works like Part, Ligeti, Reich- we came up with the phrase "Chamber Ambient" just for this work - ( !! ) -a sonic experience not to be missed. -ss/tm/am editions vaché
