Crows are fascinating birds. They are incredibly intelligent, can use simple tools and have been known to recognize the faces of people, both friend and foe. My family and I have made friends with a pair of crows. This particular pair sits on the telephone wires above our streest and wait for us to come home. They watch us and we watch them. We've learned that they will caw four times to request food. These two have become such a fixture in our lives that my daughter has given them names.
My studio sits above a garage behind my home, up a flight of stairs beside a 100-year old walnut tree. The main body of this piece was recorded with a microphone placed outside my studio door (to caputre the activity of the crows) while I captured guitar playing inside.
